Escaparate:
July, 2011

This time the main piece in our shopwindow is an oiled solid oak Bigfoot table designed by P. Mainzer, with two CH 24 oak chairs with paper cord seats, created in 1950 by the design icon Hans J. Wegner. Discreet, in a corner, the Backenzahn stool, by the same designer as the table, waits its turn. The space is invaded en masse, as if they were trying to make room for themselves, by the Dar Armchairs by Charles & Ray Eames, a design which is made of materials totally different to the previous pieces – chrome-plated steel and batch-dyed polypropylene. At the back, Billie Jean, a stunning photograph by Catarina Campino of the prima ballerina of the National Ballet Company of Portugal, whose pose ruins a bit the “sweetened” idea of ballet.
